SEPATON minimizes the risk of data loss and end-user disruption by giving data managers the ability to back up all of their data within required backup windows. Industry-leading restore performance quickly puts data in the hands of end-users who need it. The SEPATON dynamic disk file system (DDFS), SEPATON I/O subsystem (SIS), and grid architecture combine to deliver wire-speed performance for both backups and restores. During a backup, the DDFS distributes data evenly across all available spindles and RAID controllers, balancing performance and eliminating fragmentation. The SIS is a kernel-level data handling system that enables SEPATON virtual tape libraries (VTLs) to deliver unmatched performance via four gigabit Fibre Channel. - Stay ahead of data growth.
Enterprise data managers must plan for rapid data growth, often compounded by mergers and acquisitions. SEPATON’s unique scalable replication engines (SRE®) and DDFS allow independent scaling of performance and capacity without adding administrative overhead or capital expenditure. Scale performance to 9600 MB/sec. simply by adding SRE nodes. SEPATON's ContentAware architecture was designed to allow you to add advanced features simply and cost-effectively. The SIS provides an extensible environment into which SEPATON software applications, such as Site2® remote replication software and DeltaStor data deduplication can be added. The system captures detailed information about every byte of data from the backup stream, enabling DeltaStor to provide the industry’s most powerful data deduplication efficiency. - Reduce downtime, data loss.
SEPATON VTLs are built for reliability using SATA RAID 6-based storage with hot spares and failover capability. The enterprise-class, high-availability disk array has been designed with no single point of failure for maximum data protection and accessibility. Built-in sparing design includes multiple floating hot-spare drives. In addition, SEPATON’s management console is equipped with an advanced predictive monitoring feature that notifies you automatically of potential issues in critical components before they become failures. - Cut administration costs.
The DDFS automates all aspects of disk subsystem management, including performance tuning, provisioning, service levels, and growth. The SEPATON software also monitors all aspects of system health and provides a single summary view of system status and recommended corrective action. The software’s Email Home function automatically alerts SEPATON support and your administrators of any issues.
