SEPATON Names Mike Thompson To Serve As New CEO

Thompson promoted to leadership role as Mike Worhach assumes board position

MARLBOROUGH, MA – February 14, 2011 - SEPATON, Inc., the leader in enterprise-class disk-based data protection platforms, today announced the promotion of Mike Thompson to president and CEO, replacing Mike Worhach who will remain with the company as vice chairman of the Board of Directors. Thompson, who joined SEPATON in July 2010 as executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, is the former president and CEO of Egenera Corporation.

“When Mike Worhach informed us that he wanted to step away from the day-to-day operational involvement of the company to focus on a more strategic role, we initiated a national search for his successor,” said Erel Margalit, chairman of the board for SEPATON, and managing partner, Jerusalem Venture Partners. “Mike Thompson emerged as the best candidate for SEPATON. Mike has proven experience leading growth companies, plus the drive to take SEPATON to the next level -- from an exciting emerging growth company to a leader in the secondary storage space.”

“Enterprise data is growing at an annual compounded rate that is already approaching 60 percent and shows no signs of slowing,” said Thompson. “SEPATON solutions are the perfect answer for enterprises trying to survive this data explosion – and we are already in position to take advantage of this unprecedented market opportunity. If we continue to be a strong voice in the market, and constantly drive customer value through technical innovation, we will grow SEPATON in unimaginable ways.”
